In this episode we cover the sometimes taboo subject of sex. We have some hilarious stories to share this episode, so if you like a good laugh this is the one for you.
In the Middle East, many websites are quickly blocked whenever you search anything sex related. Now though with VPNs and technology, finding sex online is much easier. That sexy book you’ve always wanted to read? You can now download it straight to your Kindle. Want to watch a sexy movie? If you’ve got a VPN, no worries.
You will never find an Anne Summers shop in the Middle East so how do people get their sex toys into the country….
There are plenty of laughs in this episode, but we also touch on the sometimes icky subject of the “sexpat” or men that go MIA (missing in Asia). We discussed this article about western expats living in Thailand.
Sarah’s Instagram: @mrsbmunro – an artist from the southern highlands who creates amazing woven works of art using twigs and branches etc.
Kirsty’s Podcast: Debrief Daily Just between us is the perfect podcast for the over 40’s woman, we’re loving Sarah McDonald and Rebecca Huntley.
The music throughout the podcast was by Right Said Fred “I’m too sexy”.
We also talked about podcast sponsorship, any ideas or suggestions?

About two months after moving to Malaysia, I was driving my 7 year old son home from school when he saw a sign posted on a lamp post which said “Adult Toys for Sale – Call 999999999999” and my little boy said, “What kind of toys do you need to buy, Mom? Legos?” And I just replied, “Yes, sweetie…Mommy needs to buy some Legos.”

Great episode ladies. Some of your podcasts miss the beat with me when they’re about kids, but this was spot On! I have a friend who was stopped entering Dubai with some slightly gay DVDs and was subjected to a strip search, horrific at the time but she laughs about it now! Lots of giggles about your personal video, it’s one of the things about expat life for us that we’ve always had to spend long periods of time apart. When he came back last week and I still had a cast on my leg he had to endure many sarcastic comments and questions about logistics from men we know! Anyway I’m rambling! Loved it thanks ladies 🙂

Hi ladies, I’ve been waiting until the kids were back at school and I had a good long car journey to listen to this episode, and today was the day! You didn’t disappoint, I was laughing so hard at some points I got some really weird looks from other drivers!
I’ve loved all your episodes from day one, but this was right up there as one of the best. Love it! Keep up the excellent work!

I am sitting in my kitchen on the central coast, nsw, on my third day of no power due to the crazy storm having a giggle over this episode. Thank you for amusing stories while I sit by candle light.
Side note – I have returned to australia after 5 years in doha- I am Scottish and my husband was in the Saturday golf group with Sarah ‘s husband. I enjoy hearing about doha through your podcasts but can happily say I am very glad to be back in Oz.
Another side note – topic for the future – getting used to being back in normality and how most people you meet aren’t overly fussed to hear the expat stories – feels more like a ‘blip in time continuum’ our time in doha!
Keep up the good work

My wife was passing through Customs in the Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow when they decided to check her luggage. It didn’t happen often but this was right after 9/11 and they were being more careful. So, as Russians can do, they employed their racial profiling and selected a white woman in her late 40s as a potential hijacker.
So they open her toilet kit and pull out a couple of tampons and start waving them around saying “what are these” in broken English. Apparently they are not common in Russia. My wife couldn’t figure out how to explain to an unknown and unknowing non-native-english-speaking man what they were for. But he kept waving and demanding an answer and she was increasingly flustered. Finally, she pointed to the woman next to him also searching someone’s bag and they spoke briefly. Then it was HIS turn to be flustered and embarrassed!

Love this podcast! Almost lost my drink through my nose a few times one topic not covered is the women who seek out these Expat husbands. In most of the cases I heard of the men thought they were just having fun with a beautiful Russian young lady. Considering how most young Russian women dress, who wouldn’t?! They are stunning! However, many are looking for their way out. Often times you would see a beautiful woman with a man not so beautiful, shall we say. She wasn’t after him. She was after his passport. And if by chance she gets pregnant…..well, oops! Now her child has dual citizenship. And the man who thought he was having fun is now financially responsible for the child and child’s mother….but who thinks that far ahead?
