Hello and welcome to Season 2! Have you missed us? At the end of last season Kirsty and Sarah were having a giggle over not leaving you with a cliffhanger like they do in TV shows. Well we’ve managed to bring season 2 in with a bang.

This week we’re talking about cancer. Oh happy times! With Kirsty’s recent diagnosis we realized that expat cancer is a little different than cancer at home. It raises all sorts of additional issues. Where to have the treatment? How to break the news to family? How to keep people in the know when you’re thousands of miles away? Is it time to go home? Do you have adequate health care where you are? And will your expat employer be as understanding? After all, you’re there to do a job, if you can’t should you be there at all?

We spoke to two expat women this week who have been dealing with cancer. Kristin who is currently living in Singapore and was diagnosed with breast cancer and Emma whose husband was diagnosed with cancer while living in Doha. Thank you to both ladies for sharing your stories.

Book: With the sad passing of author Jackie Collins from breast cancer this week, Sarah touched on how her books helped her learn about sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. Not that she put any of those tips to good use! If you want a good trashy, easy read then buy any of Jackie’s books; they are great escapism.

TV: Australian series House Husbands is a great Aussie dramedy set in Melbourne. Currently in it’s 4th season you can purchase the series on iTunes or DVD.

Radio Aps: Do you miss your favourite radio station from back home? Most radio stations throughout the world now have their own app which you can download to your phone and listen to your favourite music and talk back radio. There is also a great app called Tunein Radio that will let you listen to most radio stations in the world for free.

We hope you enjoyed us being back, we are so happy to be back and recording, we’ve really missed it over the Summer.

If you have any episode suggestions please do send us a note or pop on over to our Facebook page and say hi. As always we’d love for you to leave us a review/rating on our iTunes page.

See you again next week.
