Welcome back to Season 3 – Episode 12 of Two Fat Expats, where we believe everyone should live a fat expat life. This week we examine the process of toting teens globally. Lots of tips and feedback from our question on Facebook and Two Fat Expat listener Amanda shares her experience of moving her four teenage girls from Australia to Sri Lanka and back again. We also speak to Dr Sarah Whyte who has a doctorate in Emotional Intelligence in Third Culture Kids. Sarah has developed a series of cards with questions designed to assist in moving children globally. Both interviews are insightful and full of tips for expats on the move with teens.

Hi! How can we purchase Sarah’s cards?
Nikki Moffitt
Hi Jen! You can go to her facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sarahwhyteconsulting/ also linked in the show notes or her website. They were being printed last week so I guess they will be available very soon. Sarah’s facebook page has a message saying you can message her through the page to order them, so that might be easiest. cheers Nikki x

Loved Dr Sarah Whyte’s conversation. While we are far from perfect, there was so much that I was agreeing with and thinking ‘we do that’, ‘we do that’ ‘that’s a great idea for the next move’
As you might know, we move every 2-3 years, so our expat experience as parents has grown with our daughter who was two and a half when we left Sydney for Dublin ……… my role models were older expat mums I met at International Women’s Clubs or the mums of friends of our daughter with older kids who’d ‘been there done that’.
These women have been hugely influential and supportive of my little family over the past 10 years.
Close friends in Sydney are also very helpful and supportive – they know ‘me’ and my husband from ‘before we left’ and we’ve watched them raise great kids, and keep us real and grounded and remind us that stuff that we’re going thru isn’t just because we’re expats, but because we’re parents of a tween LOL
We keep it real – we keep it honest – we keep moving (literally and figuratively)
Great podcast!
